Tree Appreciation Walks
Routes of trees worth stopping for — each an ordered sequence of trees to notice, on foot. Pick one, get your bearings, then put the phone away.
Make your own
Every walk here was made by someone who stopped and paid attention — you can too. A tree appreciation walk is simply a handful of trees worth noticing, put in an order that works on foot, each with a line or two to read while you stand beneath it.
- Notice Wander somewhere you love and photograph the trees that stop you. A phone with location switched on is all the kit you need.
- Shape Feed the photos to the little editor toolkit: mend the route, order the stops, and write each an in-situ note — a prompt to read at the tree, not a caption.
- Share Publishing tidies your images and strips the GPS for you; then you open a pull request. A maintainer reads it, and your walk joins the others here.
And play with it. A walk needn't look like the ones above — half the fun is deciding how to represent one. A map, a hand-drawn sketch, a numbered set of dares, a poem with coordinates. Bring your own way of seeing; there's room for it.
